COVID 19: TNM MEDIA ACADEMY ORGANISES FREE VIRTUAL CAREER TALK FOR SSS3 STUDENTS

In other to support government efforts and contribute to the educational development of Nigerian youths
during the COVID-19 lockdown that puts education at stagnation, TNM Media Academy has organized
an online career talk for SSS3 students and school leavers looking forward to step into their tertiary
educational career. This career talk is the second edition of the academy’s initiative tagged Learn from
Experts holding at regular intervals especially in this stay at home period.


The career talk will feature as seasoned university don, Kamoru Salaudeen, Head, Department of Mass
Communication, Fountain University, Osogbo and Mr. AbdulRasaq AbdulGaneey, Provost TNM Media
Academy speaking on Examination Success Strategies and Career Choice as well as Becoming the
Young Broadcaster respectively. To participate in this free online training, interested participant should

First Floor, Old Kingsway Building, Opposite Radio Nigeria, Dugbe, Ibadan to enroll for this free
personal development and life skill training programme holding on Zoom on Saturday, the 20th of June,
2020.
The academy has the approval of the Board for Technical and Vocational Education (BOTAVED) in Oyo
State to operate private technical and vocational college for provision of certificate training in broadcast
presentation and production to candidates who are willing to be on-air personalities (OAPs) and trained
public speakers. According to the Provost, Mr. AbdulRasaq AbdulGaneey Adekunle, popularly known as
Mr. GRA, an experienced broadcaster and household name in the broadcast industry, the academy
envisions “a world class media academy relevant to the need of all categories of people, no matter what
they do” by refining talents through innovative practical training.
Mr. GRA added that “The academy is an intervention programme to rescue our nation from the threat of
idle youths as a result of mass unemployment. Definitely, this programme will fast track Nigeria’s motion
on the ladder of sustainable development goals (SDGs) by converting our youth population to
demographic dividend through talent development leading to economic empowerment and self-
employment”.
Poised to refine the innate qualities (crude talents) of potential/future broadcast artists and allied media
practitioners through innovative practical training with state-of-the-art facilities to produce all-round
media professionals, TNM Media Academy runs 100% practical training handled by experienced
instructors from the industry and the academia in a conducive classroom atmosphere with well-equipped
production studio. Not only that students are being exposed to real time broadcast presentation during
their training, they are also taken through the techniques of skill commercialization and business
management to make them full-fledged entrepreneurs and self-employed after the training.
Surprisingly, all categories of people can enroll at TNM Media Academy, once they have the talent or
innate ability for broadcasting, public speaking and audio-visual production. Graduates, undergraduates,
