Protocol

The Chairman and other members of the Governing Council/ Advisory Board (Prof. Ayobami Ojebode & co.), Representatives of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), the representative of BOTAVED, the who is who of media educations and industry here present, the Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan (Prof. Afis Oladosu); the HOD, Department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan (Prof. Oyeyinka Oyewo), the Matriculation Guest Speaker (Dr. Olayinka Egbokhare); our distinguished students/matriculats, gentlemen of thepress, ladies and gentlemen…

It is a deep pleasure for me to welcome you all to the 3rd Matriculation Ceremony and Orientation of this institution of professional training. Just as usual, The Academy is officially enrolling another set of students into various levels of professional training in medial skills including broadcasting, advertising and audio-visual productions.

Being the pioneer media academy with government approval in Oyo State, TNM Media Academy has produced hundreds of radio and television presenters some of whom are already house-hold names among on-air-personalities in the southwestern part of the country. Like Thomas Jefferson philosophizes, “I’m a greater believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it”. The results of our efforts at TNM Media Academy have been a very strong source motivation that keeps us forging ahead in this nation building venture.

Today, we have another set of good number of studentsofficially enrolled into Basic and Advance Certificate programmes in media-allied professions like Broadcasting, Advertising, Public Speaking,Journalism and TV/Film Productions. Our vision and philosophy to provide 100% innovative practical training has not changed. In fact, we have tweaked our curricula and programme structure to accommodate the yearnings and expectation of the potential students. We align our training modules to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which calls for converting population burdens to demographic dividend. So, we train mediapreneurs not job seekers. We will help refine your talent to marketable media skills that will give you economic power.

TNM Media Academy has secured official partnership with the U.K-based World Students Advisors (WSA) on exchange programmes and admission into foreign universities outside the shores of Nigeria. With this arrangement, our students will have some foreign touches through exposure to foreign facilitators during the course of the training. Presentation of TNM Media Academy Certificates will also give students admission privileges into selected foreign universities under the partnership. This is a target we set last year and today we are there. This reminds me of Les Brown who says: “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars”. Dear students, guest and well-wishers here present, no goal is too high to attain. You only need a burning desire with which you wake up every morning.

Once again, I appreciate the Zonal Director of NBC, Ibadan Zonal Office and his team for their support and supervision of our activities. We rely so much on your guide and supervision. The Oyo State Board for Technical and Vocational Education under the leadership of Mrs. E. C. Esan-Williams has also been of tremendous regulatory support to our operations. We appreciate your interest in the education and career development of Nigerian youths. I am highly grateful to the members of our Governing Board/Advisory Council– Alh. L. O. Salami, PhD., Prof. Ayobami Ojebode and Prof. Afis Oladosu for your kindness, professional guide and selfless supports always. “If a fellow isn’t thankful for what he’s got, he isn’t likely to be thankful for what he’s going to get”, says FrankClark. Thank you so very much.

Finally, I implore our highly motivated matriculants to be very attentive as the guest speaker, a renowned marketing communication expert from Department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan (Dr. Olayinka Egbokhare) delivers his speech. Keep your passion burning as you step into the journey of a rising star.  Lou Holt aptly notes: “If you’re bored with life – you don’t get up every morning with a burning desire to do things – you don’t have enough goals.” You have set a great goal. Pursue it with passion.

I once again congratulate you on your admission into TNM Media Academy. You will live to appreciate this decision of yours. God bless you all and God bless TMN Media Academy.

Greatest TNMites! (Wait for response)

Thank you all.
