Provost Speech at First Matriculation
The Chairman and other members of tue Advisory Council, Representatives
of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), the representative of
BOTAVED, the movers and shakers of the Media educations and industry
here present, our distinguished students, gentle men underproduction
press, ladies and gentlemen…
I am more than elated to welcome you all to the maiden Matriculation Ceremony
of this prestigious institution, The New Moon Media Academy, where we have
been striving long before now to preserve the technicalities of media practice in
Nigeria by instilling in our students, the nitty-gritties of Mass Communication
particularly, in broadcasting .
Broadcasting is only a sector in media convergence. For example, we all know that
there are two forms of conventional media in the broadcast sector: radio and
Now, Multimediality enables both media on a platform which is the “Internet”.
The internet is what is used to achieve the digitization of the media which is the
latest trend universally today.
This institution, TMN Media Academy, relying on the current trend in the media
industry, has its strength on refining the crude talent of our students for four
months in basic broadcasting with regards to professionalism, productivity, and
100% practicals vis-à-vis the ethics of media practice as laid down by the NBC.
Let me reiterate here that TMN has produced OAPs across radio stations in South-
West. Our tutors and instructors as well as members of the Advisory Council are
experienced people from the academia and the media industry. Our institution has
been accredited by the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC), and the Board
for Technical and Vocational Education (BOTAVED) in Oyo State.
TMN Communications and Productions has informally been involved in media
training since more than a decade now. For this reason, I can categorically say that
we have enough experience to shoulder the formal and ceritifed training we are
flagging off today.
I urge all our matriculating students to concentrate on acquiring unbounded
knowledge from our sophisticated repository. Being our first set of students
demands some levels of pedigree that should be laid for your successors to lean on
with pride. Let your names, your faces, your accomplishments be worthy of
creating this institution’s hall of fame.
Congratulations on your matriculation into the broadcast world. I wish you the best
in your academic sojourn here. God bless you and God bless TMN Media
Greatest TNMites! (wait for response)
Thank you all.
